Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work effectively in a veterinary practice, providing care to a wide variety of animals, assisting with surgery preparation and procedures, performing pathology and imaging procedures, providing post-surgery care and advice, and complying with workplace safety and health standards.

 

To successfully complete this course, you will participate in practical training at the veterinary clinic located on campus.  You will also be required to undertake a compulsory work placement which you will arrange yourself with the assistance of your lecturers.  Detailed information about work placement will be provided at orientation.

Graduates of TAFE can move into employment or continue their studies at University, often with advanced standing. Students can also apply for a TAFE/ University package which allows for the combining of a Diploma/ Advanced Diploma and a Bachelors Degree from Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University.   Graduates will then receive a double qualification – a Diploma/ or Advanced Diploma, and a Bachelor’s Degree.
