General English Evening

The interactive methods of the General English classes extend into specialist elective classes in the afternoon. Students have the opportunity to practise their acquired skills in real life situations. Electives: 1. Academic English - Combined with General English, this is an afternoon elective for full time students. Minimum Intermediate level required. Students apply the language skills learnt in the morning to help prepare for further academic study. Topics such as report writing, research and note-taking skills are an important part of the elective. (Students may have the opportunity to use IELTS, TOEFL or TOEIC material). 2. English for Business - Combined with General English, this is an afternoon elective for full time students. Minimum Intermediate level required. This course introduces students to key business concepts and the language of the business world, including meetings, negotiating and telephoning. 3. Listening and Speaking - Combined with General English, this is an afternoon elective for full time students. Minimum Intermediate level required. This elective further develops vocabulary and the skills of listening and speaking.
