Are you interested in a rewarding career in early childhood education? The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care prepares educators in children's services (early childhood) to plan, implement and manage programs in early childhood services, in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements. This Diploma will provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage the operation of a child care centre, provide care and meet the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children in various care settings.

You will learn about ethical work practices and the legal requirements of the industry, and gain advanced skills in care routines, working with families, observing and recording children's behaviour, working with culturally diverse clients and managing safety in the workplace. As part of this course you will undertake ongoing work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned. TAFE Western Australia is the largest provider of vocational education and training in Western Australia, with campuses located throughout Perth and regional areas. Graduates of TAFE can move into employment or continue their studies at University, often with advanced standing. Students can also apply for a TAFE/ University package which allows for the combining of a Diploma/ Advanced Diploma and a Bachelors Degree from Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University. Graduates will then receive a double qualification – a Diploma/ or Advanced Diploma, and a Bachelor’s Degree.
