The Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging qualification applies across a range of industries. This broadens your future opportunities – so you can work in a variety of photographic/photo imaging fields.

A sound technical and theoretical knowledge is integrated with creative image making capabilities. You can become an independent photographic practitioner, or work in a related field such as advertising, fashion editorial or the press.

The Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging further refines your skills in the photographic disciplines. This includes specialist image capture, advanced studio and location lighting, refined digital image enhancement, web design and advanced level printing.

Our teachers are all industry professionals, there to guide and support throughout your study. We also provide opportunities for you to become involved with the photographic industry and collaborate with other students within our Melbourne Polytechnic creative arts network.

Course outcomes

You will be qualified to work in a variety of photo imaging and photographic areas, including:

Assessment

You will be assessed through your course work and folio presentation.

Recognition of Prior Learning

You can seek RPL where your work or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. Academic Credit is granted on a case-by-case basis, according to our Academic Credit policy and associated procedures. Applications for Academic Credit will be assessed by relevant Melbourne Polytechnic academics and where appropriate, industry experts.
