A career in the music industry is exciting and challenging and you could achieve great things across the world if this is your passion. While it is a competitive industry to break into, this course will provide you with the skills in musical performance needed to unleash your creativity and outshine the rest. This Diploma provides you with the skills required to perform in an ensemble as well as develop a repertoire and original material for bands/ensembles which is recorded in our in-house recording studios. You'll also learn to incorporate technology into music composition and manage and exploit your intellectual property. For entry into this course, you are required to have instrumental or vocal skills.

By the end of the course you will also develop the skills to:

apply music knowledge and artistic judgement to your work and career
develop instrumental/vocal technique
develop performance techniques
develop an ensemble and repertoire
perform as an ensemble
incorporate interactive technology into your performance
have an understanding of music composition and arrangement
understand the recording process, pre and post production
record with production teams in our industry standard studios and venue, and
collaborate with other musicians and sound production teams.

TAFE Western Australia is the largest provider of vocational education and training in Western Australia, with campuses located throughout Perth and regional areas. Graduates of TAFE can move into employment or continue their studies at University, often with advanced standing. Students can also apply for a TAFE/ University package which allows for the combining of a Diploma/ Advanced Diploma and a Bachelors Degree from Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University. Graduates will then receive a double qualification – a Diploma/ or Advanced Diploma, and a Bachelor’s Degree.
