Master of Creative Industries

We are pleased to introduce our latest post-graduate course - the Master of Creative Industries (MCI). The MCI aims to build on your creative networks, strengthen your knowledge of applied creative research, critical thinking and to extend your practice with supervisory guidance from experts in your field. These skills are vital to succeed within the competitive creative industries - enrol with us to get ahead, and stay ahead.

Course Structure

The Master of Creative Industries curriculum model is based upon three thematic streams. These are (1) Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation (2), Applied Research and (3) Creative Practice.

There are three embedded exit points for the MCI, which are:

  • Graduate Certificate of Creative Industries (one semester/48 Credit Points),
  • Graduate Diploma of Creative Industries (two semesters/96 Credit Points),
  • Master of Creative Industries (three semesters/144 Credit Points).

What do I need to do to enrol?

See entrance requirement information (listed below) – the MCI accepts qualified graduates or appropriately qualified industry experienced professionals – criteria also listed below.

Recognition of Prior Learning

You can seek RPL where your work or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. Academic Credit is granted on a case-by-case basis, according to our Academic Credit policy and associated procedures. Applications for Academic Credit will be assessed by relevant Melbourne Polytechnic academics and where appropriate, industry experts.
