We are pleased to introduce our latest post-graduate course - the Graduate Certificate of Creative Industries (GCCI). The GCCI aims to strengthen your knowledge of applied creative research, critical thinking and to extend your practice. These skills are vital to succeed within the competitive creative industries - enrol with us to get ahead, and stay ahead.

Graduate Certificate of Creative Industries (GCCI) – Objectives

You will study subjects that inform and support a reflective approach of topical themes and issues that will develop your professional practice either as an artist, designer, writer, musician or other arts professional (at the end of this degree). These subjects are supported by work in a studio and with a focus on initiating and exploring innovative projects with industry.

The learning goals and objectives for the GCCI are based around developing the relevant knowledge and analytical, critical and study skills necessary to building ventures in the creative industries. You should be able to find employment through creative enterprise, as an arts professional, practicing artist, self-employed arts entrepreneur or within the public service sector and/or academic creative arts related fields.

Course Structure

The Graduate Certificate of Creative Industries curriculum model consists of four subjects taken from the first year of the Masters program and may be taken in any order.

What do I need to do to enrol?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

You can seek RPL where your work or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. Academic Credit is granted on a case-by-case basis, according to Melbourne Polytechnic’s Higher Education (HE) Academic Credit policy and associated procedures. Applications for Academic Credit will be assessed by relevant Melbourne Polytechnic academics and where appropriate, industry experts.
